Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed as your child or adolescent navigates their big feelings? Maybe they often feel sad & angry. Maybe there's been a recent change at home. Maybe they are having difficulty succeeding with schoolwork or peers at school. There's a lot on the plate, but your main focus is on supporting your kiddo; it means a great deal to you. You're unsure where to turn to and support from friends and family is not enough. I can offer support as I have extensive training in helping young students build emotional awareness and developing their coping/resiliency skills.

I specialize in working with children 8+ and as your child's therapist, I will find what connects best with your child by incorporating creativity and play as pathways for communication and connection. I will also work with you to teach you how to support your child in the skills they are building so you feel confident the next time your child has a bad day. In addition to working with children, I also work with adults of all ages who are on their own journey to build emotional awareness and coping skills, especially if you weren't provided the opportunity to begin that journey when you were younger.

My Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I received my Master’s in Counseling from North Carolina State University, and I received my Bachelors in Anthropology with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to working at Solace, I am an elementary school counselor supporting young students as they build emotional awareness, coping skills, social skills and resiliency skills. I work with children (8+), adolescents, and adults of all ages as they begin or continue the journey to build coping skills and to better understand their sense of self in connection to the world around them.

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m...

gardening, hiking, watching soccer, competing with unnecessary intensity in casual games of ping pong or dominoes, hanging out with loved ones, cooking, and chasing my toddler
