Sophia Ceravalo, LCMHCA
Meet Sophia
If you’ve ever felt like your mental health bar is running low, your mind is juggling too many tabs, or you’re stuck in a loop you can’t seem to break, you’re not alone. A lot of people still feel like their system never fully reset after the last few years, like they’re carrying old stress into new seasons. When your thoughts get loud and your emotions stack up, it can feel like you’re trying to solo a boss fight without the right gear.
I work with people who feel things deeply — anxious thinkers, quiet worriers, folks who hold it together on the outside while trying to make sense of everything happening internally. I also connect well with gamers, fandom‑people, and anyone who finds comfort in digital worlds or story‑driven spaces. My goal is to create a place where you can show up exactly as you are, without shrinking, masking, or pretending. I’m a COVID-conscious and LGBTQ+ affirming counselor, and I’m committed to offering care that feels safe, respectful, and grounded.
In therapy, we slow things down and look at what’s actually happening beneath the overwhelm. I take a collaborative, gentle approach, drawing from ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and person-centered therapy. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck, the beliefs that drain your energy, and the experiences that shaped how you move through the world. From there, we’ll build tools that help you level up your coping skills, strengthen your resilience, and feel more connected to yourself.
My Experience
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in South Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Elon University and my Master’s in Counseling and Education from Winthrop University. I’ve supported clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, neurodivergence, anger, burnout, long-term stress, and the lingering physical and emotional effects of the pandemic, both in community clinic settings and private practice.
When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m…
I’m usually writing, watching movies or TV shows, playing video games, listening to music, or spending time with my dog, Penny. I love exploring creative worlds, digital or otherwise, and I enjoy working with clients who connect through story, character, or game mechanics. Whether your stress feels like a boss fight you can’t get past, a side quest you’ve been avoiding, or a skill tree you’re still figuring out, we can work together to make things feel more manageable.
If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or unsure how to move forward, join me for therapy where I can help you find clarity and relief.
