Tai Harper, LCSW
Support for anxiety, overwhelm, and life's transitions.
My Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned my Master of Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University in 2021. Since entering the field, I have worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, life stressors, family conflict, substance use concerns, and other challenges that impact overall well-being. My work is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and strengths-based approaches, allowing me to tailor therapy to each person's unique needs and goals.
When I'm Not in Therapist Mode...
You’ll find me giving my dog plenty of belly rubs, working toward my daily step goal, or enjoying live music whenever I get the chance. There's a good chance you'll find me at a concert adding another artist to my ever-growing list.
Have you ever stopped long enough to ask yourself, "How am I really doing?"
For many people, the answer isn't easy. Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. You take care of your family, show up for work, handle what's in front of you, and keep moving. Over time, stress, worry, disappointment, or emotional exhaustion can start to feel normal. You may not even realize how much you're holding until something finally gives your attention to it.
I work with adults who are tired of functioning on autopilot. They often come to therapy because they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or disconnected from themselves. Sometimes they're navigating a major life change. Sometimes nothing dramatic has happened at all. They've simply spent so long taking care of everything and everyone else that they've lost touch with what they need.
My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I don't believe therapy is about someone telling you how to live your life. You are the expert on your experiences. My role is to help you slow down, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and create space for a different way forward. Together, we'll explore what's working, what isn't, and what changes might help you feel more balanced, confident, and connected to yourself.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, or a difficult transition, therapy can be a place where you no longer have to carry everything alone. I hope that you leave our sessions feeling heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools you can use in your everyday life.
