“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty” ~ Maya Angelou

Asdyane sharing what therapy is like with her!

Asdyane F., MA, LCMHCA

Navigating life's transitions and personal challenges can be both difficult and emotionally taxing. As you face shifts in your circumstances, it's natural to question your identity and the path you're on. Feelings of uncertainty may surface, especially when outcomes differ from your expectations, making it feel as if life is happening to you rather than for you. If you’re struggling to find your voice or a sense of belonging, remember you're not alone. This moment offers an opportunity to reconnect with your true self, accept change, and create a new direction. I am here to support you through these changes, helping you find clarity and confidence along the way.

I am originally from Spain, although Charlotte has been my home for many years. I am passionate about helping people from all backgrounds navigate life and find their voice in a world that can be quite loud. I enjoy working with women and teens, supporting them through life's challenges—whether it's past experiences or new ones—we will work together to overcome trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, or depression.

As a therapist, I recognize that each person is unique and the importance of authentic connection. I will advocate for you, support you, and be real with you. Your needs and well-being are my main priority.

I use a diverse clinical approach to assist you in achieving your goals: Person-Centered Therapy primarily informs your journey with me because you are the expert on you; your needs are my priority, and supporting you is my main goal. I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients become their most authentic selves by letting go of what no longer serves them, and Feminist Therapy to understand your specific needs, provide insight into the systemic origins of your experience, and to empower you as you navigate the nuances of modern society.

Life can be difficult, but if any of the words you read resonated with you, I encourage you to reach out. You don’t have to go through it alone.

My Experience

I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at UNC Charlotte and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health at Wake Forest University. I am bilingual (English and Spanish).

When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m...

cooking or baking. I also enjoy reading and watching TV, especially true crime shows —I’m always excited to find the next one to binge (right now, I’m obsessed with British psychological thrillers!). I’m a proud dog and cat mom; spending time with my pets is a big part of my life.
